Courageous dialogues (not monologues) between elected officials, postal management, postal union leaders, and
postal employees are seriously needed in the U.S. Postal Service workplace about a multitude of issues revolving
around the business, dignity and respect, and hostile working conditions because these combined factors have a
significant impact on effective mail delivery.

“Our employees have been and always will be our greatest asset and our greatest strength,” he said. “We are the
indispensable means of delivery today, and our challenge is to make sure we remain the indispensable means of
delivery far into the future.”

Ron’s Five Point Plan for Local Union Branch Success
(Strategy to follow with support of appointed steward team)
1. Communication
2. Transformation
3. Membership
4. Vision/Mission
5. Organization
I envision our local branch union as a space shuttle to the future piloted by a highly motivated crew of cross-
trained stewards who by choice represent the eyes and ears of the labor organization.
These books are intentionally very short stories that get to the heart of the situation pretty quickly. If you can follow the flow and
understand the thought you will see the sunshine and feel the rain in about an hour.
If you don't see something to take action on you will definitely want to make a comment or have a friendly discussion as a forum
for a free exchange of ideas which hopefully will lead to an improved working environment.

This year we reach the centennial mark as a key union within the postal community!
I have never been a delegate to a national convention but I look forward to the opportunity to be voted in by
you, the membership to represent our branch and local this summer in an important national election year.
I expect to be present at all kinds of forums and meetings throughout the week with no better opportunity to
network and immerse myself in national dialogue hearing, offering, discussing, and empathizing with a wide
array of viewpoints among the delegates. I won't list an extended resume profiling times I have gotten out of
work, because I can't. I feel the only credential needed for this mission is a passion to actually participate.
What's in it for you? (WIIFY): I expect to come back and educate the membership through presentation about
the week of events since it has never been offered as a result of others attending over the past three conventions.
There are a limited number of seats available to an extended number of candidates and we can't keep picking
the popular names or else we will never change the game. I don't want to travel to get out of work I want to put
your union dollars to work.
Vote Ronald Williams, Jr. Delegate to the 2012 NPMHU convention.

"The postmaster general has offered a plan that Sanders said would lead to the closure of as many as 3,500 post offices — mostly in
rural areas — and shutter 252 mail processing facilities. It would also end overnight delivery standards for first-class mail; eliminate
Saturday delivery; end no-layoff clauses in collective bargaining agreements and eventually reduce the postal service’s workforce
from 550,000 to 330,000."
“What I want to do is to make the post office a much more entrepreneurial, consumer friendly institution so that it can be more
competitive and raise new revenue,” he said. “Their business model is to change nothing and cut, cut, cut.”
