Deep Inside LiteBlue is a non-fiction 56 page 6 X 9 Book. It is small enough
to be carried in your back pocket, pocketbook, apron, shirt pocket or even
in your hand. It is a quick read that I know you will enjoy. It is one
employee's opinion that I am sure many others can relate too. There are no
secrets revealed unless you consider people a secret.
The United States Postal Service is known as Blue. The internal
operations of the postal service of the extranet are called LiteBlue, a
domain where employees send, receive and access up-to-date
information about the business. The postal plant professionally known
as a processing and distribution center (P&DC) is where all the mail
collected in the postal service is processed deep behind the scenes.
The facility is a sight unseen and unheard of by many customers in the
general public. I used to believe that when I handed my letter or
package to a postal employee that was the end of mailing. It is actually
the beginning.
Deep Inside LiteBlue is all about employees. We are doing a lot of
things well and in many aspects we are struggling with the transition
from the industrial age to the information in the processing plant.
